Annual National Conference

Our Annual MASBA Conference is the flagship gathering of school board members, education leaders, and partners from across the country. Held each fall, the conference offers a dynamic space for professional development, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas that strengthen Latino equity in public education.

Across two days, attendees participate in keynote sessions, panel discussions, breakout workshops, and networking opportunities designed to support effective governance and community-centered leadership. The conference also features student programming, recognitions, and member engagement activities that celebrate the work of school boards and highlight emerging challenges and solutions in the field.

Breakout Sessions & Keynotes

Each year, the conference brings together speakers and facilitators who offer insights into the evolving landscape of public education. Past programming has included breakout sessions on:

  • Governance and effective board leadership

  • Legislative and policy updates impacting districts

  • Community engagement and family partnerships

  • Strategies for improving student outcomes

  • Equity-driven district practices and innovation

Keynote speakers have included education leaders, scholars, and practitioners who share forward-looking perspectives on representation, leadership, and the future of public education.

The annual MASBA National Conference is more than an event—it is a convening that reinforces MASBA’s commitment to uplifting Latino students, fostering strong leadership, and building a network of school board members dedicated to equitable policy and practice.
