ABOUT US
MASBA—School Board Members for Latino Equity—is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing Latino educational equity through culturally conscious school board leadership. Founded in Texas, MASBA has grown into a national association of school board members and education leaders who share a responsibility to govern with equity, representation, and accountability at the center.
MASBA supports leaders through expansive programming that strengthens governance, deepens cultural awareness, and equips board members to make informed decisions that reflect the communities they serve. This work also extends beyond the boardroom, creating meaningful opportunities that support Latino/Mexican American students within public education systems.
Today, with more than 14 million Latino students enrolled in public schools across the country, the pursuit of educational equity is more urgent than ever. Guided by a vision of an equitable public education system, MASBA works to elevate Latino voices in educational leadership and ensure that students and families are not only represented, but empowered to thrive.
